1st Birthday Celebration

It was my niece Victoria's first birthday today. My sister in law is Korean, so this birthday celebration for Victoria was a very important one due to Korean tradition.  There was a party for her and she was given a lot of beautiful gifts.  If you would like to know a little more about the Korean first birthday traditions, you can find some information here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korean_birthday_celebrations

This is the card I made for my beautiful little niece. This was another small one, measuring 100 x 105mm.
Patterned Paper - First Edition 'Animal Antics' 8x8
Stamp - 'The Wild Ones' by Adam Pescott (from Quick Cards magazine) coloured with ProMarkers
Flowers & seam binding - Wild Orchid Crafts
Bakers twine from a shop on eBay (sorry, can't remember the name at the moment!)
Doily - Wilton Enterprises, 4 inch diameter.  I inked it as it was white.
Flat-backed adhesive pearls - The Hobby House
The 'V' and '1' are from the 'Upon a Time' alphabet die from Sizzix Decorative Strip (Tim Holtz Alterations)
I used a Martha Stewart punch for the edge of the patterned paper
Distress Inks used - Ranger Tim Holtz 'Bundled Sage', 'Tattered Rose' & 'Antique Linen'
Dies used - Spellbinders Nestabilities : Lacey Circles, Classic Scalloped Circles Large and Standard Circles Large
It was a very special occasion and I think Victoria thoroughly enjoyed all her presents!

An update on the job front - one of my colleagues in the sales office has resigned.  So we were all hauled in and told how terribly lucky we are 'for the moment' and the situation will be reviewed again in a few months time.  So in other words, they're still aiming on getting rid of one more person but there's a couple months breathing space.  Oh, and 'you're very lucky to have a job' was the speech we got, coupled with 'longer hours are expected' as the workload will be given to yours truly and maybe one other person in the office (along with what we currently do).  We don't however get paid for the longer hours.  It's just expected.  Ho hum.

There's been some wonderful jobs advertised in the papers the last few weeks - wish me luck everyone!

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I appreciate it.

Take care.
